Tru Pickles
5994 S Prince St Ste 102, Littleton CO 80120, United States
Hey there,
I’m Greg Skufca—known to many as “The Pickle Guy.” TruPickles didn’t come to life in a corporate boardroom or as part of some elaborate business strategy. Instead, its roots are deeply intertwined with family traditions, cherished recipes, and a passion for sharing bold, authentic flavors with the world.
This journey started in a kitchen, not an office, and the essence of TruPickles is the preservation of love, history, and bold flavors. It all began with my great-grandmother’s canning recipes, which traveled across the ocean with her when she immigrated to America. These weren’t just recipes; they were a slice of family history, a symbol of resilience, and a celebration of flavor. Each jar we made wasn’t merely pickles—it was a labor of love and a testament to our roots.
For years, these recipes remained a treasured family secret. Passed down from one generation to the next, they became a cornerstone of our family traditions. Growing up, I never imagined that the simple act of making pickles would one day define my life’s work. But as life unfolded, it became clear that the bold journey of TruPickles was waiting for me to embark on it.
After spending 25 years in the corporate world, I found myself at a crossroads, reflecting on what truly mattered to me. The fast-paced, profit-driven environment of business couldn’t compare to the joy I felt sharing our family’s pickles with friends and neighbors. Time after time, I heard the same thing: “Greg, these are the best pickles I’ve ever had!” That feedback lingered in my mind, pushing me to think beyond the corporate grind.
One day, I decided to take a leap of faith. I left the corporate world behind, embracing the challenge of turning my family’s cherished recipes into a business. TruPickles was born—not in a skyscraper but in a kitchen filled with memories, authenticity, and a commitment to bold, homemade flavors. From the outset, I knew that TruPickles had to stand for something genuine.
TruPickles is rooted in the values I learned growing up: hard work, attention to detail, and a deep appreciation for quality. Every jar reflects those lessons, embodying a “no shortcuts” philosophy. From fresh, natural ingredients to handcrafted production methods, TruPickles stays true to its roots. In those early days, we started small, delivering jars to local stores and farmers’ markets. Word spread quickly, and people began to notice the difference. They fell in love with the satisfying crunch, the bold tang of the brine, and the unmistakable taste of pickles made with care.
Pickles were just the beginning. TruPickles was destined to evolve into something even greater. My dad used to joke that pickle juice was “liquid gold” because of its versatility and bold flavor. Inspired by his words, I started experimenting with pickle juice, finding ways to give it new life. Before long, we were bottling pickle juice. Its high electrolyte content made it a favorite among athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a flavorful alternative to sugary sports drinks.
Our innovation didn’t stop there. We created a Bloody Mary mix that combined the tanginess of pickle juice with the richness of tomato and the perfect amount of spice. It quickly became a hit at brunch tables everywhere. Each new product we developed was grounded in our love for bold flavors and our desire to share them with the world.
Today, TruPickles has sold over 2 million jars. That’s a milestone I never could have dreamed of when I started this journey. From classic dill to spicy varieties, every jar is a celebration of the lessons and values passed down through my family. Despite our success, TruPickles remains a small, dedicated team with big dreams. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, but we know there’s still much more to do.
At the heart of our brand is a commitment to authenticity. TruPickles is more than just a jar of pickles; it’s a promise to deliver quality and tradition with every bite. We pride ourselves on using only fresh, natural ingredients, avoiding shortcuts or artificial additives. Each jar is handcrafted, reflecting the care and attention to detail that have been part of my family’s pickling tradition for generations.
One of our proudest innovations has been pickle juice. Beyond its unique flavor, pickle juice offers incredible benefits. Packed with electrolytes, it’s a natural choice for hydration and muscle cramp relief. Athletes swear by its ability to prevent and alleviate cramps almost instantly. The vinegar in pickle juice also provides anti-inflammatory properties, making it a functional beverage for health-conscious individuals.
TruPickles pickle juice has also proven to be a versatile kitchen ingredient. People use it to marinate meats, brine vegetables, and even create unique cocktails. It’s become a staple for those who appreciate bold, tangy flavors and love getting creative in the kitchen.
Our fans are at the center of everything we do. If you’ve ever purchased a jar of TruPickles, enjoyed our pickle juice, or shared a Bloody Mary with friends, you’ve become part of this journey. Your support and enthusiasm have kept us going, inspiring us to push boundaries and develop bold new flavors. TruPickles isn’t just our story—it’s yours too.
Looking to the future, we’re excited about what lies ahead. We’re committed to expanding our product line, experimenting with new flavors, and staying true to the values that brought us here. Every day, we strive to honor the legacy of my great-grandmother’s recipes while creating something uniquely our own.
The journey of TruPickles is far from over. We’ve reached incredible milestones, but there’s so much more we want to achieve. Thank you for being part of this bold journey. Together, we’ll continue to celebrate tradition, embrace innovation, and share the joy of homemade goodness with the world.
The bold journey of TruPickles isn’t just about pickles—it’s about preserving memories, creating connections, and delivering bold, unforgettable flavors. Let’s keep the pickle magic alive!
Stay crisp,
Greg Skufca
